- Why it works with thinning hair
- Coils add texture and height and cover the scalp better than a flat cut. Keep twists loose so they do not pull at the hairline.
- Best for these stages

What to tell your barber
Short on top, about 1 to 1.5 inches so I can twist or sponge it, with a low taper on the sides. Keep the hairline natural, no push-back line-up.
How to style it
- Moisturize, then use a curl sponge in circles.
- Avoid tight styles and heavy line-ups. Tension and razor line-ups can worsen hairline loss.
- Products
- Leave-in conditioner · Light twisting cream
- Upkeep
- Every 2–3 weeks
A good cut makes thinning less noticeable, but it does not stop it. For that, see finasteride vs minoxidil.
